The author Charlie Fish surprisingly held for such a short story, a number of literary devices, like there was quite an interesting repetition of the word 'clack'. Throughout the story, it presented itself several times. And it brings a feeling of a coming death, and a clock into the story. Such as 'the clock that is counting it down', and 'tick tock of his final moments on earth. Also, there is a much amount of foreshadowing in the story by the author which adds a feeling of suspense to it.
