An organization can be successful if it can manage and organize the entire system effectively. For the management of the valuable data, records and information, majority of the organizations utilize the databases available. A database of an organization contains information related to the company, its environment, functions and planning (Beynon, 2004). The essential purpose of the database is to organize, store and retrieve data as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Analyzing the Use of Databases in the Organization
The organization in which I work, heavily rely on the databases. The central database used is Microsoft; employees used Microsoft to create presentations, used it as a research tool, pull daily reports and most importantly to communicate within each other. Microsoft supports applications which allow the company to communicate within each other instantaneously by Instant Messaging and email. This is a suitable method of communication rapidly and effectively. Every day these crucial applications are used and without them the company cannot operate. It is also used for the input data about the clients. Once the data is entered into the system, it can be viewed by the entire organization. It is easier for the employees as they can access the information whenever they need it.
Actions and decisions within the organization are based upon the image contained in the corporate database. Managerial decisions direct the actions at the operational level and produce plans and expectations which are formally captured and stored in the databases of the company. The records of the transactions, organizational activities results, changes in the environments and updating of the databases are done frequently in our department for maintaining the organized methods.
