Introduction

Following previous assignments, this paper is going to develop the curriculum for the student populations identified in earlier assignments. For a quick recap which is important to understand the curriculum it is important to discuss again the demographic of students. First of all the curriculum presented below will address the needs of the students from the age bracket of 8-11. The curriculum will focus on the school district in Palmyra Borough, which is an urban fringe district comprises of fairly stable society of predominately blue collar, and middle class families. The ethnic makeup of the borough was estimated as 81 percent Caucasians, 14 percent African Americans, 3 percent Latinos or Hispanics, 1 percent Asians, and also comprises of Pacific Islander, Native Americans, and some other ethnics as well. For every full-time equivalent teacher; eleven students are presented in school. Approximately, 18 percent of students of the Palmyra Borough School district have an Individualized Education Program (IEP), which is a written plan for students who are eligible for special needs services. Further, the school consists of just 1 percent students who are enrolled as English Language Learners (ELL); they are in the process of learning and acquiring skills of English Language. These demographics reveal that mostly the students are already English language learners thus will not need any ELL alterations. Moreover, this also indicates towards the fact that the district is highly diversified; therefore, curriculum shall be prepared considering the diversification of the student population. The students in the demographic are from various ethnicities, this demographic characteristic can enhance their learning by making the learning environment more diversified and dynamic.
