Introduction
The Credit Crunchers are looking forward to build and sustain a leading organization. One of the most significant business areas for initiating and even expanding business is 'market research'. Leadership in research and development department plays a vital role in organization, especially in those businesses that incorporates rapid change and drastic developments. They became the means of upgrading R&D potential of the firm that is vital in rapidly advancing industry (Akovali & Mansurov, 2000, p.98). This report critically appraises Round 8 of MBR, by presenting the strategies adopted in research and development, reasons of adopting those strategies, and their impact.
The objective of research and development department is to analyze markets the firm is working in or intends to work in potential years in order to plan ahead rather than to guess ahead. In mobile phone industry, demand keeps changing and thereby it is necessary to know how things are changing and where they are leading. However, this critical analysis of the market requires an effective set of skills, and therefore we used our research experience and skills in order to come up with sound information. Strategies used in marketing research include extensive research for gathering Data which must involve the collection of useful information as much as possible about the market. It is done prior to taking any further steps such as creating a marketing mode (ESOMAR, 2008, p.131). Thus, this report covers what role is played by research and development department in the given context of our project.
Summary of Departmental Result for The Round
Brief summary of Round 8 must be viewed in order to gain a better idea of the post MBR decision quality. Departmental results for Round 8 represent an increase in sales as compared to Round 4 (Pre MBR) by approximately 85%. With the increase in sales revenue, obviously costs and expenses have also increased by 72%. The major components that led to this increase are research and development (R&D), features costs, variable production cost, and transportation and tariff. But on the other hand, some costs have reduced, including contract manufacturing cost and promotion. Depreciation from fixed assets has also increased but net financing cost have declined in Round 8. Furthermore, income taxes have become zero, and thereby, the net profit for the round increased by 3%. Thus, overall results of this round (Round 8 - post MBR) are positive.
