To understand the role of the federal government in regard to criminal justice in the country, it is important to first understand the interests and mandates of ministries involved in program delivery. Within the federal government, more than 20 departments and agencies have unique responsibilities in the field of crime.

The laws affecting the production and drug use vary from countries.
