Abstract

The objective of this research paper is to plan and implement an Ethics Policy Program for criminal justice system. A hypothetical situation of Municipal Law Enforcement Agency with a certain number of civil personnel and sworn officers has been created. This helps to understand the distortions of incompatibility, inconsistency, and inability to create ethical values for law enforcement activities in the municipal. The literature review of this paper covers examples from the previous findings of the formulation of sections for civil jurisprudence. The conduct of these policies may reflect the ethical conduct of police officers for correct dissemination in the agency. The use of Social Contract Theory is been part of this section II of the paper for normative understanding of the subject matter.

Criminal Justice Ethics Policy and Program

Introduction

Different levels in the society from local community to neighborhood depend on the policy making for criminal justice issues. The formulation of strategies and determination of approach at local and national levels helps to determine criminal justice ethics policy and program. This paper holds compliance viewpoint from planning to implementation of the criminal justice system. The case of Municipal Law Enforcement Agency as a hypothetical situation for developing ethics policy for two hundred and fifty sworn officers and hundred civilian personnel is the subject matter of this assignment (Tingey-Holyoak, et al., 2011).

The first section of this paper comprises of literature review for ethics policy of criminal justice system. The second section of this paper deals with the ideological grounds of the design of actual Ethics Policy. The ground realities of designing and implementing the ethics policy based on the ideological, ethical, and empirical framework.

A general issue of applicability of all policy making to act ethically in the formulation of plans and projects is the first aspect of thinking for ethics policy of criminal justice system.

The second aspect deals with the specific relation of policy making for punishment. Lawsuit considers punishment as a morality policy that is certainly capital punishment with the involvement of ethics.

Background: Literature Review

The management of criminal justice is an important aspect for designing policies, practices, and procedures in today's context. It is also necessary to understand the rationality behind the need and concerns of ethics for a municipal enforcement agency. The answer seems obvious to this question. However, ethics is beyond the standards and measures of good behavior. The establishment of behavioral measures of fair dealing, accountability, responsibility, integrity is not covered through the existing laws. These concerns are the essential part of the fiduciary system which is the highest standard of conduct. These provisions help in the management and supervisions for majority of enforcement officials.
