Introduction

The study relates to the criminal issue that is the occurrence of violent and property crime. The study particularly focuses on the crimes that took place in California. Moreover, these crimes should be controlled as it not only affects the individuals but also the whole society. For that reason, crime is a factor of concern for any society, thus, violent and property crimes in California are the issues which affects the entire society.

Violent crime is a criminal offense in the law, which the victim was intentionally deprived of life, which caused intentional serious or non-serious injury or offense violations of protection against sexual coercion and sexual integrity protection. Accordingly, the violent crime includes intentional homicide, intentional harm, rape and sexual abuse. Violent crimes are homicide, manslaughter by negligence, slight injury, theft and other property crimes. The right to compensation for such persons includes victims who have suffered pecuniary or non-pecuniary damage caused by violent crime; and husband/ wife and dependents of victims who have been deprived of life violent crime (Hahn, 2011). Moreover, dependents of victims are minors, parents' victims who cannot work or other dependents, in fact, unable to work, they were dependent on the victim or entitled to maintenance on the date of death of the victim as a child born after the death of the victim.

Moreover, property crimes constitute a culpable violation of the owner's power of control over their individually determined tangible thing or things, whether the property is real or personal.
