Introduction

The study aims to determine the rise of contemporary media concerns which has been penetrated deep into our lives. The topic which has been discussed in this essay covers the growth of reality TV in the modern world which has approximately grabbed the eighty per cent of the viewers. There have been a lot of articles related to this topic such as 'Reality TV Grabs Most Viewers' by Wayne Friedman in 2011, 'Reality TV's Instant Stars Populate a Magazine' by Jeremy Peters in 2011, and 'The Reality Principle' by Kelefa Sanneh in 2011. The reality television has always been around us since the broadcast of news where we happen to watch broadcast of actual occurrences such as police chase, stunt, and natural disaster but in the contemporary times, this concept has taken another intense shape which is even impacting the lives of viewers. The reality television is progressively being more negative as the media people are continuously spreading the violence, shocks, and ridiculous stuff over the television in order to make their program more exciting and in greed of getting the highest rating.

The television has been getting a controversy for a long time for having the positive as well as negative impacts over the society. Hence the latest controversy pertinent to this war is the critics over the reality shows that have been leaving the wrongful impact over the lives of viewers through the exposure of dysfunctional and violent behavior by feeding our voyeuristic urges and siphoning the intelligence (Media Blood Hound, 2012).
