Many of us think that making a plan is a waste, no one implements it and things are done as they occur. Although it is not the correct approach because for every big success or a high achievement proper planning is mandatory (Johnson, 1992, 113). Therefore, one must write a thorough, detailed business plan so to analyze his performance and keep a check and balance on it. It should not be then kept in the cupboard once implemented rather it should be checked on a regular basis and examine where you stand and alter your decisions to get in line with that plan.

Focus on Customer Service

Competition lies everywhere, similarly in consulting one has to prove him that he is the best as a consultant and should stand out from the crowd to get the clients' attention. The most effective way to do all this is nothing but excellent customer service. A consultant has to build good customer relationships but limited to their profession. This way he could go beyond expectations and provide the clients' with excellent service, no matter how big or small the case may be.

The behavior with clients and the way of dealing with them is highly important and noticed by everyone. The dealings should be highly professional and give an impression of great expertise in everything that can influence a clients' decision (Johnson, 1992, 113).
