ABSTRACT
In the present study, an attempt would be made to explore the persistent conflict on the United States and Mexico border. The study would analyze the important events in history between the two countries. The main focus of the research would be to highlight the root causes of conflict on the border i.e. the geographical and cultural differences between the two nations. The thesis would include a detailed account of the major difficulties to conflict resolution between the two countries. A meta-analysis would be conducted and the results and inferences from a vast number of researches conducted on the subject would be discussed and interpreted. Also, recommendations and suggestions would also be proposed to counter the grim issues facing both the countries. The basic theme of the study is the difficulties to conflict resolution in the United States/Mexico border.
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Outline of the Study
The first chapter provides an introduction to the topic including the purpose and significance of the study. The second chapter would present a review of the relevant literature on the topic and highlight the vast number of studies conducted on the subject. The third chapter would highlight the methodology adopted in the study. The analysis and the findings of the study would be presented and discussed in the fourth chapter. The final chapter would conclude the study and also highlight the various implications and necessary recommendations for further research.
Background of the Study
The United States and Mexico border has long been a subject of controversy and conflicts. It is a delicate location and involves a variety of issues i.e. illegal immigration, border crossings, drug trade etc. The US/Mexico border runs through the Imperial Beach in California and across Tijuana into the Western region of Tamaulipas, Matamoros. It also crosses through Brownsville, Texas. However, in the east it runs through a number of terrains ranging from vital urban areas to inhospitable deserts.
