Introduction

Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) (Peace Be Upon Him) and Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as laid the groundwork for two similar but very different religions. Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) (Peace Be Upon Him) was the founder of Christianity, and Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was the founder of Islam. This document is intended for comparison with the life of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) (Peace Be Upon Him) and Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) historically, to examine what impact the death of every man was at their respective religions, the way everyone was worshiped, and explain how each message is in the modern world.

Lives

Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) (peace be upon him) and Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) were influential roll models of their religions. Thus, Christianity and Islam are two of the most influential religions in the present day. Both were sent on Earth for the guidance of the people, but there are significant differences between them.

Table 1 below shows a comparison in the life of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) Christ and Muhammad. All the links illustrated in the table are in accordance with Fischer, MP (2005), with the exception of Biblical Literature. All biblical references are in accordance with the Lightning Study Bible KJV-R.

Born in Bethlehem (4 BCE-30 CE).

Conceived of the Holy Spirit—Born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25).

Born in Mecca (570 CE-632 CE).

Naturally conceived—not of a virgin.

Death

Crucified: Sacrificed his life for humanity.

Resurrected within three days.

Ascended to heaven.

There was no appointed successor.

Died of Illness

Was not resurrected.

Did not ascend to heaven.

Abu Bakr became his appointed successor.

There is only one God:

Represented as the Holy Trinity i.e. God—The Father, Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him)—God the Son, and The Holy Spirit—Power and presence of God.

There is only one God (Allah).

Represented by Mohammad as the last messenger and prophet

Given the best knowledge of every thing by Allah

Old Testament: Known as Hebrew Bible or Five Books of Moses (written prior to the birth of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him)).

New Testament: Written after Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him)' death by his disciples.

Apocrypha: Non-canonical Jewish texts mystical writings based on the vision of the prophet Isaiah (used in some denominations not all).

Note: There is no mention of Mohammad in the Bible.

Qur'an: Known as Revelations from Allah to Mohammad (written by Mohammad).

Hadith: Stories of Mohammad 's life.

Sunnah: Sayings and actions of Mohammad.
