Introduction

Community service is the best form of service that an individual or a group of volunteers perform. It helps in benefiting their segregated or any other society. A community service is said to be successful, if it provides the best talented group of people to overcome stereotypes and judgments. These people have a genuine enthusiasm for helping others while building the capacities and competencies of the clients we serve. America is a vast country. Not only do they embrace the cultural diversity in communities, but they put all efforts in order to help bring it into all areas of the American environment where everyone can be treated equally and fair.

Community police

Community police officers guard neighborhoods on foot. Community policing allows officers to create mutual relations and familiarity with their assigned neighborhoods and individuals who reside and work there. The difference between patrol officers and the foot patrol is the level of involvement within a community (Melody, 2005). Patrol officers drive through and scan for criminal activity. Community officers get personally involved with citizens who comprise a community.

Community policing reforms have sought to provide the police with greater public acceptance and political grounding. These reforms were created over time and came together in the 1990s under the umbrella of community policing, which is also called community oriented policing. At that time, it had become clear that other 20th-century police efforts the wars waged by the police on crime, drugs, and youth participation in violence were not working as intended.
