Communication is around us every day and everywhere and having effective communications skills will help a conversation go smoothly. Demonstrative communication enhances verbal communication in many ways. For example, when a corporate businessman stands before his audience in a suit and tie, ready to present his sales strategy is really saying that, “I am a professional, I am attending to assist you and I know what I am talking about. Demonstrative communication can be in the form of facial expressions, gestures, body language and posture, eye gaze, blinking of eyes, and lips or mouth. Facial expressions are a powerful part of nonverbal communication because a lot of information can be given away with a smile or frown. Most facial expressions of happiness, surprise, excitement, and sadness are the same just about anywhere a person go. Gestures can be waving and pointing, and some gestures might have different meanings just about everywhere a person go. The successful communication exhibits the effects understand of the message, education, and empowerment etc. Communication when effective it provides the sender and the receiver with all the information they need, when people know that they are able to understand the relevant terms they get more motivated to perform their best. The commendation can be both effective and ineffective and can have both negative and positive effects. Communication can be both effective and ineffective it is a lie. For instances, a person tells the story and whatever a person tells, and pulls it off in an effective manner which can affect the listeners lives in a negative way. It could result in a manner in misleading the colleagues (Miller, 1999).
Discussion
Communication serves four major functions within a group or organization, control, motivation, emotional expression and information. In addition, the process of communication is used in daily life. Whether a person is communicating with his family, friends, or a stranger effective communication is necessary. Because, communication is a process through which a person transfers his message to another person. Now the process of communication is effective when the message sent by the sender is received and properly understood by the receiver (Rogers, Allbritton, 1995). Otherwise, it would be ineffective communication. Communication acts to control individual behavior in various ways. The organization has guidelines hierarchies of authority and forms to which employees should be addressed.
For example, when asked subordinates to communicate first with your manager any irregularities related to work, in order to follow the job description or to comply with company policies, communication serves as a function control (Rogers, Allbritton, 1995). There are two main forms of communication formal and informal communication. The type of business communication that is used in daily life is called informal communication because it lacks formal procedure. But informal communication also controls the behavior. When the working groups annoy or harass some members produce more than others (and make the rest of the group look bad), informally they communicate and control their behavior.
