What is communication?

Communication refers to the process of transferring information from one place to another in order to build shared understanding and involves electronic, non-verbal and verbal modes of human interaction. This process involves transferring of information between a sender and a receiver through an appropriate communication channel. Communication can either be effective or ineffective. Effective communication means that the message sent by the sender is understood by the receiver and both have similar understanding of the information, whereas ineffective communication means that the information conveyed by the sender is not understood by the receiver.
