I agree with your post that it is one of the key behaviors for managers is to admit mistakes. If a manager can realize mistake than he or she would be remain careful next time and take step more cautiously (Mayer, 2003). This has to be done carefully, but needs to be communicated to fellow nurses. A leader/manager who does not admit their mistakes can come across as “better than everyone else”. This, I believe can make them less approachable and less effective leader.  Study also indicates that person cannot become effective manager ones who does not realize its mistake and learn.

Thanks for the above post, I completely agree with above state post about self awareness which is important and key element for effective manager. Snowden, (2002) also indicates that when one has strong self-awareness they possess an increased ability to avoid defensiveness when receiving constructive criticism and avoid being hostile, overbearing. Leaders without this ability often can be seen as throwing tantrums or acting out, and more importantly, are more reactive than proactive (Dye, 2010).  Study indicates that the effective manager is a role model to their peers from where begins to learn something new.
