Introduction

Colonialism was when some of the European powers extended their political authorities over some of the areas of Asia, America, Australia and Africa. When the nineteenth century ended, almost all of the Africa had been colonized by one of the many Great Powers. When initially in the seventeenth century, the British got involved in the matters of Africa, the term 'black' was used to refer to the different color tone of the skin between the people of Britain and the people of West Africa.
