In the book “Coaching for Improved Work Performance” the author Ferdinand F. Fournies has described the different behavioral approaches which are necessary for obtaining good results from the employees. The main objective of the person working at leadership, management or mentoring position in an organization should always be to help employees for giving their best outcome as much as possible. According to the definition of the management, the main task of the manager is to manage people. It is their responsibility or main duty to help their employees. Many managers work out of the track. They behave badly with their employees like shout on them, abuse them, and treat them like their servants. As a result, employees lose their motivation and sometimes they quite. Through these actions, managers do not help their company, but actually they are causing serious harm. The author tells the managers that training through different psychological methods will not help them to improve their performance because it doesn't tell them how to do it. He also tells that the key aspect for improving and correcting performance is to focus on the employee's behavior. This book reminds all the managers who are responsible for managing their employees, that they should take this responsibility very seriously and fulfill it in a proper manner (F, Fournies, 1999).
Firstly, the book goes through the basics or characteristics of becoming manager. A manager attains results with the help of others.
