Cloud Computing for E-Learning

Purpose

The purpose of the plan is to devise and analyse the prominence of cloud computing in relation to e-learning. It attempts to enlighten the concept of e-learning as applied by cloud computing in a holistic context.

Plan Description

Cloud technology, its program and its applications are being used most widely. Cloud technology has a very simple definition with a new trend in software, where all services are directly linked from computer to the internet. Now, we have an ease of access to the downloading of files to the computers. This software will run directly through the internet, from the service provider, erasing our hard drives (Sotomayor, Montero & Foster, 2009).

External Dependencies

If your computing needs are very different - because you are working on different sites, or you work for a project with changing number of employees, and thus you often need large amounts of data or computing power - then the adaptability and flexibility of cloud offerings could mean significant savings. In fact, when you have no project, there are no expensive servers or computer running "empty" in your business.

Planning Assumptions

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are turning more and more towards hosted solutions in the cloud: nearly 40% of SMEs plan to invest in one or more cloud computing services within the next three years, a one-third increase in the number of user companies (Mullin, 2009). Knowing that each company should use an average of 3.3 services each. Moreover, the number of solutions for which they paid ready to invest ahead to double. This is what reveals a study on the adoption of cloud led by Microsoft. According to the group, this enthusiasm is the blow as many opportunities for suppliers of platforms in the clouds, offering solutions for collaborative work, data storage, or services by ...
