Benefits of Cloud Computing

Introduction

Could computing can be regarded as the solution for the IT. Cloud computing is not a new technology but instead it is the offered service over the internet. (Ferriman,2011, p 02)The characteristics of cloud services is that it can access via the internet and is paid by need, and use means customers only pay for what they actually use. Resources are available to be accessed from the cloud any time anywhere. Some of the ways in which cloud computing and services provide benefits to the organisations to grow and flourish their business are listed below (Ferriman, 2011, p. 02).

Benefits of Cloud Computing

Cost Effective

There is always cost associated when large organisations are concerned. Cloud computing removes all barriers by giving substantially low cost entry. There's not need to buy powerful and expensive equipment to use cloud computing since all processing is done in the cloud not on a local computer, so there's no need of processing power or hardisk space (Anonymous, 2011, pp. 01-03).

The IT department of an organisation experience a decrease in their expenses in regard to the infrastructure with the adaptation of cloud. IT department can use the computing power of cloud to supplement or replace internal computing resources which can prevent from powerful investments in powerful servers (Anonymous, 2011, pp. 01-03).

Maintenance cost will be reduced using cloud because there will be fewer servers in the organisation which means both software and hardware maintenance for organization will be less.

By using cloud there will be no need to buy software packages for individual computer in an organisation (Anonymous, 2011, pp. 01-03).

High Reliability

Cloud computing provides high reliability of the services as managing the virtual servers is easier than physical ones. If hardware on the server is failed so the transition can easily be transferred to any available servers, this makes cloud more flexible and reliable (Anonymous, 2011, pp. 01-03).

Unlimited storage capacity

Cloud computing offers limitless storage capacity, but storage capacity can be expanded at any time with small additional charge (Anonymous, 2011, pp. 01-03).

Easy access of Cloud

This is one of the biggest advantages of Cloud computing, which provides, an ease to the employees of an organisation. With the use of cloud computing, the employees are not limited to work on a specific computer, they can work from anywhere using their 'Cloud PC' and their existing work will follow them through cloud computing (Anonymous, 2011, pp. 01-03).

Document control

In traditional companies employees have to send files back and forth through emails, this means that only one employee can work at a time on a particular time this is time consuming and that the document contain tones of names and ...
