Three possible decision alternatives to address the problem regarding the whistles

The situation regarding the supply of toys to the elementary school children has become a bit tough for the company. The main issue is the timely supply of these toys to the children before the beginning of their school year. So, it has become important for the production department to resolve this matter quickly in order to avoid any serious problem. There is a need to present three possible decision alternatives that would be taken to address the problem regarding the whistles in the toys. The first alternative would be that toys would need to be produced again to meet the required quality standards for children. It is quite clear that the existing batch of toys cannot be delivered in the market for the children. It can lead to negative consequences because Quality Assurance Department has not provided approval regarding the supply of these toys. In order to maximize the production of toys, company can put a break on the manufacturing of other toys. (Cross, 1997)

The second alternative for the company would be to remove the defects from the toys. This will eliminate the unwanted substance in the toy and would even decrease costs. Reproduction of the toys would not be an easy option for the employees because lots of efforts will be required in this task. This particular factor will turn out to be detrimental for the company as they might lose their contract for the supply of toys. The production team will even manage other tasks related to manufacturing of other items. Third alternative that the company will have is to produce a variety of toys for children. It means that the production of new toys will take place in the factory. The existing batch of the toys will be delivered to the other segment of the children who would be more than 7 years old. The reason for this act would be to save them from any kind of incident that might harm them. So, these are the three alternatives to address the problems regarding the whistles. (Frost, 2005)

Process or Method that would be used for selecting each of the alternatives

The process or method for the first alternative would remain the same which was used previously to produce these toys. The first alternative suggested the reproduction of the toys. The only difference, would be, there is the elimination of the defect in the toys. However, in the case of the second alternative, the process will certainly be different. The production team might use other machines to remove the defective substance from the toys. In the case, of the third alternative, there will be a need for a new strategy to be adopted by the production department.
