I. Statement of problem area.

Impact on individual's attitude and behavior, due to change in management of companies likes Lehman Brothers changes.

A. Background of change attempt.

Lehman Brothers is a financial service firm and in the year 2008 Lehman Brothers filed bankruptcy protection. This bankruptcy is known as the biggest bankruptcy of United States. The main reason behind the bankruptcy of Lehman Brother is that they borrowed huge amount to do their investment and this lead them towards the bankruptcy. This process is also called as gearing or leveraging. The huge portion of investment was done in assets like housing projects. During that time one want was agreeing to bail this company out (Lehman Brothers).1. Nature of change (What is being proposed?).

In 2008 Nomura, Japan's largest brokerage firm made deal with the Lehman Brothers and acquired their business. Nomura acquired 8000 employees of Lehman Brothers and they tried to provide world class infrastructure to support them. In this deal of acquisition nomura did not only acquired the European business of Lehman Brothers but also their business in the Asian countries. In Europe they acquired investment banking operations and currency linked operations. In Asian countries like India they acquired the three subsidiaries which where Lehman Brothers Services, Structured financial services and financial services (Nomura.com)

2. Issues (Why is it being proposed?).

The reason behind the acquisition is that Nomura was getting benefit of 8,000 world class employees, world class customers and with a good relationship with them and world class IT platform which gave them powerful business infrastructure. By looking at these benefits only Nomura made the deal with the Lehman Brothers (Nomura.com).

3. Change Agent(s).

Change Agents are one who organizes the human resources of the organizations. They make changes in the organization which have long lasting effect on the human resource and on the organization. They help human resources of the company to adopt changes and give them a new perspective towards life. They also give advices for future outcomes which were not achieved in past (Stevenson, 2008).

A. Personality

The personalities of change agents are full of passion which inspires others. Their role is to develop such personalities by which other people get motivated and inspired. Bringing change in other person is not an easy task (Stevenson, 2008).

B. Power

The power of change agents are that they have strong ability to motivate them self. If a person helps in motivating other that does not mean that person itself does not need motivation. Change agents have to keep them self motivating in other to maintain their personalities (Stevenson, 2008).

C. Motive for being the change agent

The motive of Change agent is to understand people and change them. No matters in what department an employee is working but they all need change which change agent givers them. The change is long lasting and helps them in achieving their goals (Stevenson, 2008).
