Change Management at Woodville Hospital

Introduction

Change is inevitable and is necessary force that shapes the processes and structures in organizations today. The change needs to be anticipated in advance. The reactive approaches to change adoption are obsolete. In the following paper new Chief Pharmacist at Woodville Hospital; Ashok is implementing the changes that are needed widely across the hospital to make it truly working to its true potential. This paper discusses the models which are available, and selection of appropriate model. This paper further disuses its implementation and evaluation plans.

Discussion

Change is needed in the Woodville Hospital as the new Chief Pharmacist is eager to improve the situation. The hospital must adopt the practice of self-adoption of change rather than becoming a lager in adopting it (Roger, 2000: 388 -398). He wants to make situation work in the best manner, as he views the hospital as catering services to its patients in the best manner. While it is possible to ensure safety and control within the pharmacy, outside the pharmacy the elements of persuasion and influence should guide the safe practices. The mission should be in such a manner as to ensure, collaborative working with health care professionals as to provide the best services to people in dispensing pharmaceuticals they need in a timely and safe manner and for appropriate use. This mission is somewhat different from that of Jacqueline's.

Making a mission is one thing while its implementation is another. The Seven S model seeks to provide an overview approach in determining whether or not the resources of a firm are working in supporting collaborative manner as to achieve the ...
