Part One

The issue of employee's turnover is not the new one and almost all of the organizations suffer from such a problem. The business issue Sunny communication is facing is the sudden resignation of support staff members. 10 support staff out of 16 left the organization and started working for the competitors organization as the basic salary they provide is more than that of previous organization.

According to the external assessor, the employees are happy the way company treats them and around 90 percent employees are satisfied with the job. Besides having such good repute among the employees, the reason for a staff member's resignation is very difficult to be understood. The apparent reason of the resignation is less basic salary. It is true that every individual work to earn money and many researchers have developed a link between money and motivation. Some scholars argue that alone money cannot result in job satisfaction , and there are other aspects like nature of job, chances of growth and relationship between employees and supervisors all that counts (Holtom et al., 2005, pp. 09).

Organizations do not pay much attention to the resignation of support staff because of the nature of the job. But it becomes the matters of concern when a substantial amount of staff members left the organization. Such a significant number of resignations not only disturb the flow of the organization on a temporary basis, but it portrays the company which doesn't care to its employees and the overall credentials of the company regarding to the employees growth and development. At the organizational level, the overall credential of the company can be put on the risk. As in the last year, Sunny got the award of The Sunday Times Best Small Companies due to high performance of the employees. At the departmental level, the reporting authority needs to ask about such a high resignation and it will negatively impact the performance of the department. At the individual level, the rest of the employees need to be asked about the job satisfaction and whether they are currently satisfied with the job or not.

The support staff is not directly involved in the core operation of the company and the owner of the company has realized that support staff is not being given proper attention of the company. At departmental level, they need recognition as other employees are getting the reward and recognition from their respective departments. At organizational level, they have very less chances of growth though most of them were satisfied by their jobs. At personal level, they feel dissatisfied with the current salary package. Salary is not sufficient enough to accommodate the weakness and shortcomings of departmental and organizational level.
