Executive Summary
My name is Karima Zhakupova, I am currently enrolled at North American College, one year left to get my bachelor degree in international business. For the past 15 years my mother has been running a successful Russian restaurant in Kazakhstan. My parents along with me and my three siblings moved to the United States for a better future. I have always spent ample amount of time in the kitchen along with my mother creating traditional Russian cuisine. My purpose is to complete my business degree and pursuit my dream of opening a successful Russian restaurant in the United States, backed by my innovative ideas, I am sure it will be a great success. I am highly inspired by the Taqueria restaurant chain in Texas, and I suggest expanding from a Mexican chain of restaurants into Russian as well.
Mission Statement
According to the United States census of 2009 a total of 3,072,756 Russian's now live within the United States. I personally believe in establishing a restaurant that is for the Russian community primarily and for other Russian cuisine lovers. (US census board)My mother's experience of the cuisine along with 15 years of running a restaurant is a huge advantage. My main goal is in pursuing my family dream of owning a little bit of Russia in the United States. Creating an atmosphere where people feel nostalgic, the experience to them feels like being in Russia.
Goals and Objectives
My short term goals include finalizing the restaurant deal and inaugurating it within this year, and focus on stabilizing the restaurant and gaining a reputation my next goal is to expand into various other segments and also start other cuisines along with Russian. Within 5 years I also plan on opening my chain of restaurants across Texas and eventually all across the United States.
Product and Service
Initially I plan on pursuing Russian Cuisine, which is extremely diverse and this varied element is derived from its multicultural heritage. Russian cuisine is extremely refined and the culinary techniques applied are extremely complex with unique combinations and styles. I would also like to add a mini bar.
