Executive Summary

Raising funds for charity is considered one of the best things a person can do in his spare time. Although raising charity may be easy, a lot of effort is required to plan the event since not everyone may be willing to donate money for the needy. By organizing events where items are sold in order to earn some money for the needy is one of the best ways to collect charity; therefore, this plan encompasses arranging a sales day in which books, handicraft and other used items will be offered for sale, the proceeds of which will be donated to a charity organization. Since there are many students in the university, it is expected that the targets will be met.

Business Plan

Introduction

This business plan is about offering books, handicraft and other items on sale in the university and donating the proceeds to charity. The amount required is £300 which is attainable keeping in mind the number of students studying. The event is supposed to arranged within a week, so a lot of work has to be carried out which will require cooperation from all members of the team.

Business

In order to generate fund of £300, a considerable amount of items will be required. These items will be either crafted by the volunteers or collected from the neighbourhood. The costs required for the events will be initially borne by the volunteers. These costs will be recorded by the person who will be assigned the task. After the event, those who contributed will be disbursed the amount they spent and the rest will be donated.

Offering

Since the target market is students of the university, the items that will be sold should include things that are of use to them. Keeping this requirement in mind, we have decided to sell books, handicrafts, and used decorative items. Used decorative items are part of the plan since there is virtually no cost related to these items and hence the entire revenue generated from the sale of these items can be given to charity.

Customer Profile

With over 5000 students and faculty members at Keele, raising £300 can be quite easy. However, with the number of charity events and other events taking place in the campus, the students may not be attracted. In order to catch their attention, something different will have to be done so that we may achieve our goal and they may be satisfied our offering. We estimate that despite the number of students in the university, only about 500 will visit the stalls. Therefore, out expenses should be minimum in order to generate the required revenue. Problems may arise if people are not interested in the activity due to which the goals will not be achieved.

Marketing

Since it will be difficult to effectively market our event throughout the university due to cost constraints, we have decided to target a few departments by displaying posters at the entrance. However, we will also market our event on the website of the ...
