Business Continuity Management

Abstract

Business continuity system includes the organizational structure, procedures, resources, and knowledge of the staff to succeed and minimize losses from events which have the status of force. The system aims to reduce the loss of personnel, reduction of loss of assets, prevent shutdown of business processes and rapid restoration of full activity, regardless of the nature of the events. This paper will deal with the formulation of a business continuity plan, relating its significance and undertaking a complete research on the fundamentals of the business continuity management for the Medical Device Company. The entire plan will focus upon the supply chain of the products and services, the operations management, and the risk management at company. It will follow a qualitative methodology in relevance with the secondary research in order to reach the findings and establish a solid conclusion at the end of the study.

Research Problem

The economic life of a business depends on its ability to act. Unpredictable events in the form of natural disasters (flooding, storm damage, fire or earthquake) or caused by human activity (supply shortages, strikes, attacks), are the action that have the ability to threaten. Business Continuity Management ensures the through emergency preparedness such plans which guarantee the continuity of the business in the critical emergency situations. This requires analysis, design and simulation of the spatial reference of incidents or even the affected objects important working tools. The business Continuity Plan (BCP) helps to find answers to

Risk exposure of business-critical systems,

Identification of dependencies between processes and supply chains.

BCP supports the spatial reference to the development of a holistic approach in business continuity management to help companies prepare for possible life-threatening events. Modern business intelligence systems provide targeted information for everyday decisions individually and in every workplace. Proprietary data is collected with a data warehouse concept, managed and analyzed and presented (Neufeldt, 1994, pp.156-165). BCP opens up additional space in terms of business intelligence, providing new ways to support the decision to increase the efficiency and gain a competitive advantage. In the area of geo example, this includes location-based customer, location and market analysis for sales and marketing.

The current study will deal with the business continuity management in the Medical Device Company. It will undertake to discuss the subject with respect to its supply chain management, operational departments and other related business functions. The current study will provide the business continuity plan for the uninterrupted continuity of the Medical Device Company.
