Border Security Plan

Introduction

The American economy represents one of the greatest and most influential entities in the contemporary global society, which has enabled the American government to develop an effective social security structure for the citizens. It is due to this reason that foreigners from various parts of the world seek to drastically enhance their quality of life and join the American social structure. There are several effective and legal ways through which citizens from various countries of the world can enter the country and initiate the process of becoming legal citizens. However this process is very comprehensive and time consuming, and the foreign individuals seek to live in the country on an illegal basis (Doty, 2007). The American authorities cannot afford to provide the significant and numerous social security related services to the overall population by the contribution of the tax payers, if there is a significant portion of the population which is living on is illegal basis. The biggest negative impact of illegal citizens residing in the country is that it puts a strain on the taxpaying citizens, hence pressurizing the government authorities to limit the scope and span of the social services offered to the citizens.

Discussion

In order to limit the number of illegal immigrants entering in the country, the American government has developed a complex security system. The majority of the immigrant threat posed to the country is by the shared border with Mexico. Mexico is an underdeveloped country, where a significant number of the overall population lives under the poverty line. These individuals seek to enter the American soil through the shared border, and pursue their objective of living in a free and opportune environment. However the American authorities have to ensure that these individuals are stopped at the shared border, so that the flow of illegal immigration can be halted. Considering the significance of the US Mexico border and the illegal immigration factor, the American border patrol authorities have to play a pivotal role. Due to the vast length of the border and the geographical factors involved, it is difficult for the American Border Patrol authorities to completely stop the illegal immigration through the US-Mexico border. The implementation of the physical and out dated measures to stop these individuals can be considered as an outdated strategy, and the border patrol authorities require innovative and technology driven strategies to adequately cope with this dilemma.

US-Mexico Authorities Strategic Alliance: Resource Perspective

In the contemporary border security initiative adopted by the relevant American based regulatory authorities, I believe that a crucial component is lacking. In order to substantially cope with the dilemma of illegal immigration of Mexican individuals using the America-Mexico border, the relevant regulatory authorities of both these countries have to develop a strategic partnership. In this perspective I believe that the American government should help the Mexican authorities by providing them with the resources required to halt the illegal immigrants form trespassing the borders in the initial stage (Coleman, ...
