Introduction

The book we are discussing is Living, Loving and Learning by Dr. Felice Leonardo Buscaglia. The author was born on 31 March 1924 and died on 11 June 1998. He was a professor in Department of Special Education at the University of Southern California and commonly known as “Dr. of Love”. Dr. Felice Leonardo Buscaglia began to write his first-class titled "Love 1A", after the suicide of his most talented students. His student had shown no signs of anxiety, but eventually one day she took her life. This action forced the author to ponder over a considerable question. He thought what the benefit of all the learning, knowledge and reading gave to us if we are not taught about the value of life, our innovations and uniqueness, and personal dignity (http://www.buscaglia.com).

Discussion

The thought provoking nature of him made him write his love class. He had charged no salary and tuition fee and just created a forum to consider the very basic things. He facilitated the students instead of teaching. This course became the basis of his first book titled “Love”.
