Introduction

The attitude of the parents towards their child is very important for his development. Parents who are late to have children, it is often difficult for them to accept their new role fully, compared to parents who are still young. Accepting their parenting role helps parents in their task. In this paper I will discuss the importance of parenting for the upbringing and development of a child by discussing certain strategies to become a good parent (McKay, 2006, pp. 114-116).
