As the "New York Times" reported that the drug is currently being sold in 22 of the 50 U.S. states, usually in 50-milligram packs for 25 to 50 dollars (Panda, 2006).
Composition
The drug is selling with names such as Ivory Wave, or Vanilla Sky, in the form of small crystals or powder. It contains synthetic chemicals, such as mephedrone and MDPV, but each batch is different. Bath salts are usually in powder form for inhalation. MDPV acts as a stimulant and produces effects similar to cocaine. Bath salts and "incense" are both varieties of the common laboratory derivatives of cocaine and marijuana drug, respectively. Bath salts are most often snorted or smoked, or in one case, injected as heroin and "incense" is smoked as marijuana. Bath salts can be found in impressive packaging for counters, petrol stations, discount stores and tobacco shops.
Effects
Bath salts cause serious hallucinogenic effects, and states of uncontrolled violence.
