Article Review

The purpose of this paper is to review the article entitled "The Practice of Nursing Research. Findings of synthesis, and generation of evidence" This document is based on evidence-based nursing. Evidence-Based Nursing or EBN is a type of health care based on evidence, on the basis of some of the traditions of evidence-based medicine. It involves identifying solid research results and their application in nursing practice, in order to increase the quality of patient care. The aim of EBN is to provide the highest quality and most cost-effective nursing care possible. EBN is a process based on the collection, interpretation and integration of valid research, important and applicable. Some well-defined EBN, taking into account only the application of the results of randomized clinical trials, while others also include the use of case reports and expert opinion. To practice evidence-based nursing, professionals must understand the concept of research and how to evaluate precisely this research. These skills are taught in modern nursing education and as part of vocational training. (Loyd 2008)

The holistic approach of nursing, which is incorporated in many contemporary nursing theories is significant for the relationship between nursing practice and development of nursing theory in relation to clinical practice. Clinical decision making refers to the cognitive processes involved in formulating a diagnosis of patient decision making and the selection decision-making appropriate interventions to correct the patient's problems. The main sources of error in making clinical decisions are erroneous perception of the results, and the misperception of values rather than patient outcomes. The incorporation of holism in nursing theory could lead to improvements in clinical decision making in which the nurse works within the parameters of the theory of nursing would be more understanding of and sympathy for the place values of patients results. the achievement of objectives, a holistic, patient autonomy, the interaction between nurse and patient, and adaptation are common, too contemporary theory of nursing and nursing practice. The problem of perception of the gap between theory and practice is based on the assumption that theory can and should apply directly to nursing practice, otherwise, is irrelevant. While the spirit that made this claim is healthy, the hypothesis is false, the type of knowledge related to practice can not be taught through theory nor well represented in theoretical terms. States that a symbol like an image or picture is not the same as the real object, therefore, what is taught in the classroom is not the same as that experienced in the clinical setting.

Theory can only offer generalizations and can not capture the richness of what individuals are in practice, but the theory gives students an idea of what to expect. Benner (1984) argues that the art of nursing can not be found in textbooks and that intuitive knowledge is characteristic of expert nursing practice through the experience reported by the theoretical knowledge, but not enslaved by it .
