Aromatherapy is not a new concept. The origin dates back to the old times in the human healing practices. The concept dates back to 3000 BC, with the earliest aromatic oils used in the ancient times in Egyptians, at first, who use them as cosmetics.

The concept first gained interest when the researchers in the past era realized that there were some plants and fruits that made the sick people feel better. The same phenomenon was noticed in the animals. This made the researchers study the leaves and plants for the materials that caused this healing. These researchers resulted in the discovery of essentialoils. These essential oils in the past were not extracted and purified like they have been done today (Davis, 2000).

The soonest made a record out of the usage of fragrant oils in England was in the 13th century from 1470-1670 accordingly. Various books and distinctive presentations were prepared with recipes for making basic oils. It is understood that people that used sweet-inhaling oils were the primary ones to survive the plunge that struck Europe as the oils they used had sterile terrains (Mcguinness, 1997). European solution pressed onto use plants and oils and all through the 16th century, oils could be obtained at an "apothecary," and various more basic oils were exhibited.
