The topic that I have chosen is Persuade a family member that the world today is better than it was 50 years ago. I would go with the argument that the world was better 50 years ago than it was today. Although, majority of people might disagree with this notion, but there are reasons to support this idea. The life was very simple around 50 years ago when there were not many technological devices such as computers, mp3players, DVD Player, Microwave oven, IPods etc. These things do give fun and enjoyment, but at that time also people use to enjoy a lot in the various activities they used to perform at that time. At that time, people were much physically active which made them healthy and gave them enjoyment as well.

People were highly involved in sports activities like cricket, tennis, football, basketball etc which even flourished those days a lot. Nowadays people do not play sports a lot as compare to the past. They rely on the indoor activities for the enjoyment such as computer games, ludo, scrabble etc that makes them lazy despite of the fact that these sports are enjoyable. Due to their laziness, people face health problems from a very young age. They face problems of digestion, heart problems, liver problems that also creates a negative impact on their life expectancy. People were even very social those days as they used to have good relationship with their neighbors, friends and relatives. They used to visit their house on frequent basis and also had regular gatherings on various occasions such as birthday parties, meal parties etc that made it possible for them to be very social. These days' people are social but most of them are in contact with each other through social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, MSN, Yahoo, Gmail etc but it has reduced the frequency of people visiting their relatives house or friends house.

The main reason is the distance as most of them are located far away with each other. Although, many people are having their own modes of transportation such as cars but due to high expenses of fuel, they avoid making high usage of their cars.
