Abstract

Americans from the last two decades are dissatisfied with the current status of the healthcare system. The conflict between the public and the government is giving rise to a situation which needs a considerable change in the health care reforms so as to identify the concerns related to the cost and quality of the services. To achieve the targeted goals the health care systems needs the implementation of certain practices which meet the public demands.

Introduction

Today in the United States, the most contentious concern that arises is the improvement of health care reforms. The causes that contribute to the dispute over health care are even larger than the long period from which these debates have been going on. It was the 2008 presidential elections when Obama first stated his aspiration to improve health care. A bill was passed on March 23, 2010 by Obama, known as the Patient Protection Care Act. The bill intended to advance the strategies of insurance corporations, which included the enforcement of life camps for the health of the people who were suffering from various diseases. However, he was unable to accomplish his goal within the deadline (Orszag, 2010).

Discussion

The share of gross national product reflects the upsurge in the health expenditure in the United States; this increase is the reason behind the mounting concern shown by some of the authorities. Although the concerns shown by the authorities are conspicuous, it seems that the effect on the public is very minor. As a matter of fact, the increasing costs of the services of health care are aggravating the worries of people, yet a large number of Americans want more money to be spent by the government on the health care centers for their improvement (Blendon, 2006).
