It was July 26, 1990 when the act for the Americans with Disabilities was signed into law by the President of that time George W. Bush. The law was made with the aim of providing civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities. People with disabilities were demanding for their rights and a movement was also carried on by them on the same pattern of the civil rights movement 1960s therefore this law was passed in response to them and it is also valid to the United States Congress. On January 1, 2009, the law was later amended. The objective of the law is plain and straightforward. The purpose of this law is to eradicate prejudice and biasedness against disable people. But shaping out what it all stands for is complex. The elucidation of the law transforms when cases are settled on in court. The intentions of the laws are clarified due to the coming out of new regulations.

Person with disabilities had to face discrimination and prejudice against them. The purpose of the American Disabilities Act is to minimize the risks of employer's discrimination.

Those discriminations involve segregation, limitation and classification of employees and job applicants that affect the disabled negatively. The equal employment opportunity of disabled may be denied by the employer. The recruitment and selection tests entirely or partially intended for the determination of job applicant's disabilities. Employers might be failed to accommodate the disable person at their job place effectively and efficiently. Such administrative criteria or procedure's implementation may be carried on by the employer that may cause discrimination against person with disability. The employer might employ a tactic to screen or tend to screen disabled individuals from the workplace.

III. Target Population

The American Disability Act is intended to benefit the persons having disability (could be one or more) rather mentally or physically that considerably affects major life activities; persons having an evidence of such impairment (such as medical transcripts or a letter from doctor) or person is considered as having an impairment. (Dellwo Adrienne, 2010) Under the American Disabilities Act, in the legal sense, a disability must be made with a few exceptions with no consideration to the beneficial outcomes of a mitigating action, like taking drugs or medicines. Moreover, the modifications in the law necessitate that the disability only has to restrain one major life activity. The people falling in the category of disability are the target populations of American Disabilities Act.

IV. Review of the literature

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has been a channel for considerable improvement in contributing about provision of opportunities on equal basis and status to the disabled persons.
