Using the analytic variables provided in posted lecture, compare and contrast the development of Virginia and Mass

There are a number of differences that are found in the Virginia and Massachusetts Bay colonies which occurred over time. One of the major differences found in these two bay colonies include the difference in the governmental structures of these colonies. It has been observed that the Puritans who aimed to flee from the harassment in the United Kingdom formed the Massachusetts Bay colonies. In addition to this, it has also been observed that there was an existence of a self governed structure in this colony, and a conservative hierarchical system was also established by the Puritans which were based on the will of God. On the other hand, the bay colonies that exist in Virginia were found to be under the indirect rule of the King of the United Kingdom who aimed to appoint trusted and wealthy landowners. On the other hand, a major difference that was found in both of these colonies is on the basis of religion and economy. It has been researched that the basis of the religion of the Massachusetts Bay colonies was strictly based on the Puritan system and on the other hand, the Anglican Church was declared as the head church of the Virginia Bay colonies. As far as economy is concerned, it is found that the Massachusetts did not rely on using slaves. In addition to this, the source of labor of the Virginia Bay colonies was the internal transfer of servants from the United Kingdom (Niebuhr, 2010).
