As alcohol is one of the strongest depressants, therefore, most of the brain functions are slowed down by the usage of alcohol. This research paper will throw light on the effects that the usage of alcohol has on driving of an individual. It will also encompass the effects that alcohol usage has on the physical, as well as, mental abilities and processes of the human beings. This will also include the social implications of drunk driving. Laws and rules of drunk driving, as well as, some facts will also be provided to provide an overview of the recent developments on the alcohol usage.

It is highly dangerous when a person drives when he is either drunk or intoxicated. When there is an increased concentration or content of alcohol in the blood, there is an increased risk of highway injuries, vehicular deaths and car accidents. This can not only cause problems for the driver himself, but also for the people around him who can get seriously affected by the drunk driving of the other person. Effects of Alcohol on the Mental Abilities of the Body

There are a number of ways in which the usage and intake of alcohol affects the functioning of the brain. For the drinker, alcohol is a heavenly thing which is something that will satisfy their thirst. Most of the people drink alcohol for scrubbing away their fatigue. There may be attraction and usefulness of alcohol for the drinker, however, there are many serious effects that it has on the nervous system of the body (Wagner, 2003).

It is made from the fermentation of starches and sugar. Alcohol is widely used, either in the denatured form as a beverage, or in its pure form (Wagner, 2003).
