Aerodynamics

Introduction

The rapid development of aviation in recent years is the result mainly of aerodynamic research, both theoretical and experimental. Aerodynamics as a science in its completeness and variety of tasks, and especially by the nature of its application stand out from the classical hydrodynamics and aspires to become an independent science. Under these conditions, the aerodynamics over the past decade, so has developed what is now the main task of one of its vast areas can already be considered permitted. Aerodynamics is the branch of fluid mechanics that deals with the movement of air and other gaseous fluids, and the forces acting on the bodies that move in such fluids.

Aerodynamics is the part of fluid mechanics that studies the gas in motion and forces or reactions to which they are subjected are the bodies within it. A self-importance of aerodynamics must be added the value of their contribution to aeronautics (Sprague, 2005). According to the Mach number and relative speed of a mobile with respect to air, aerodynamics is divided into subsonic and supersonic as that number is less than or greater than unity. As an example of the aerodynamic field of podiums include the movement of an airplane through the air among others. The presence of an object in a fluid changes the distribution of gas pressures and velocities of fluid particles, leading-based forces and resistance. The modification of some of the values ??(pressure or speed) in the opposite automatically modifies the other. It was formulated in 1738 by mathematician and physicist Daniel Bernoulli and states that there is a decrease in pressure of a fluid (liquid or gas) movement with increasing speed. The theorem states that energy total fluid system with uniform flow remains constant along the flow path. It can be shown that as a result this; the flow velocity increase must be offset by reduced pressure. The theorem applies to the flow on surfaces, like the wings of an airplane or Propeller of a boat.

Major problems with new designs

New technological advancements have lead to significant contributions from all aspects of theoretical and experimental research into the field of aerodynamics. There have been new modes of efficiency in aerodynamics and the technological advancements have led to significant transformations into the area. There are certain laws of aerodynamics applicable to any object moving through air, which explain the flight of objects heavier than air. The study of flight is the same considering it is the object moving through air, as this object is stationary and the air is moving. Used in aerodynamics, numerical data, especially the coefficients of aerodynamic drag, is very unreliable (Watson, 1993). Measurement of the aerodynamic drag produced by the car part of the free run-in part by measuring the maximum speed is yet another issue in this domain. Many experimental values obtained during tests in a wind tunnel. They were carried out on models of very different quality of manufacture and made in different scales. Not been the same way of modelling the ...
