Introduction

The term environmental pollution pertains to the environmental damage caused by the contamination of air, water or other natural substances. The environmental pollution has so much of adverse consequences, as well as, the damage to the existence of ecological and biological habitat. Environmental pollution is a serious issue in the world of today. Communities are enduring to stop the damage caused by the pollution, as it costs million of dollars to the countries every year.

Environmental pollution is defined as “the induction of contaminants into a natural environment leading to instability, disorder, harm and destruction to the environmental agent”. It is a multiplicative factor that grows by the time, and takes a greater proportion of the environment with the spam of time. It is essential to be controlled; otherwise it leads to severe harmful consequences.

It was initiated by several agent on a micro scale, however, the macro scale encompasses of the development of the industrial age. In all cases, the scientific developments are essential for the needs and demands of the mankind, however, it has caused the pollution to grow by all means and ways. In the recent times, the development and management of the anti-population strategies have gained a greater demand due to the immense damage caused to the environment every day (Anon, n.d).

The concept of environmental pollution

The term environmental pollution is known to everyone in the world of today. It pertains to the changes in the atmosphere that leads to the development of adverse changes in the atmosphere that pertains to the human living. Pollutants are agents that could be foreign or self produced due to chemical reactions or changes in the world around.

Forms of pollution

There are several forms of environmental pollution; the major forms are discussed as under;

Air pollution

It pertains to the emission of chemicals in the atmosphere; it is caused by gaseous pollutants mainly produced by motor vehicles and the industrial emission of the agents.

Light pollution

It is caused by the interference of light

Littering

The form of pollution that is caused by accumulation littering and manmade damage to the environment.

Noise Pollution

It is induced by any type of noise, such as, industrial noise, roadway noise and other ways of noise creation.

Soil contamination

It is occurs when chemicals in the soil react to each other, spilling or leakage of the chemical reactions.
