Introduction

In the journey of our academic lives, we go through many stages that develop our personality and provides handful of knowledge and information. One of such activities is undertaking the process of dissertation and research. This professional academic research is conducted by the students in order to get a highly recognized degree in a selected field for example doctoral research in order to get a doctorate degree and etc. Dissertation is a professional research therefore, it is important for the students to first learn about how a dissertation is designed, what are the core elements that need to be included and what key points researchers might take into consideration in order to develop a quality dissertation. A dissertation is a professional academic work in which a real research proposal is designed. The first and the foremost thing for conducting a research is defining the problem statement. The discussion will be conducted on the problem statement related to the issues of organizational leadership.

Many private organizations remain in the cyclone of the problem that whether the “Autocratic Leadership Style” leads towards decline in the motivation level of the employees or not. A research will be conducted in order to find out whether the statement is correct or not and if the statement is correct then what are the reasons behind it. It is a very important issue for the organization because motivation of employee is directly related to the performance of the organization.

Discussion about the Research Problem Statement

Organizations have included employee development and management as one prime strategic element in enabling them to gain competitive advantage. According to Glenn and John (2010) the main reason for the failure of the small private businesses today is the poor leadership (Glenn and John, 2010). There are different kinds of leadership styles. One such style is autocratic leadership style in which leaders who have a dominating impact on their employees and subordinates and they neither involve the employees in decision making process nor take their feedbacks or suggestions.

Different styles are adopted by different leaders and produce different results. Now, the problem at hand is that whether using the autocratic style of leadership declines the motivation of employees or not. As it is mentioned earlier that autocratic style is the style that is very authoritative and employees are not taken into consideration while making any decision so it is the general perception that when employees are not values then they would not feel motivated. But, the real world especially the corporate arena does not run on speculations and general perceptions so it is essential to check the reality and implacability of this statement. In order to solve this problem and to check the reality it is imperative to perform the research on this topic.
