The Result of Looping on the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) in one Urban Middle School

The Result of Looping on the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) in one Urban Middle School

What is CRCT

The Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) is quite simply an objective assessment of a test taker's requisite foundation of knowledge and skills. CRCT scores are used by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) as a uniform standard of qualification. While it may not be fair, all of a person's plans for the future may be dependent upon needing a certain CRCT score. That is the whole purpose of Paul D. West Middle School CRCT Secrets study guide: to give test takers the keys to understand how to succeed on the CRCT.

Looping

Looping is an educational practice in which a single graded class of children stays with a teacher for two or more years or grade levels. The children and the teacher remain together as the class is promoted. At the end of the second (or third) year in the pattern, the children move on to a new teacher while the looping teacher returns to the lower grade level to receive a new group of students. Although looping is not used in multiage grouping (because a multiage group does not comprise a single class grade), many schools that are considering implementation of a multiage program use looping as a first step.

Problem

In this research study, the results of one group of students who remained with the same interdisciplinary math teacher for one year will be compared to one group of students who had different teachers in grades six and seven. The results of the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) will be used as a comparison to examine the academic growth of the students from grades six to seven. The use of the CRCT should provide this study with the data to indicate whether the students in the looping situation will have a significant increase or decrease in student achievement or whether there will be no difference in the test results of the students involved.

CRCT in Middle School

Paul D. West Middle School is located in Fulton County Schools System in East Point, Georgia. Paul D. West Middle School's comprehensive CRCT study guide is written by our CRCT experts, who painstakingly researched every topic and concept you need to know to pass your CRCT. Our original research into the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT), offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), reveals specific content areas and skills that are critical for you to know on the CRCT. The management of Paul D. West Middle School has taken that information and developed a study guide that is guaranteed to help students be successful on the CRCT.

Georgia's Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests are used to determine how students are learning and performing in the Georgia school environment. Georgia law requires all first to eighth grade students to take the CRCT in the subjects of reading, language arts, and mathematics. Third to eighth graders also test in science ...
