Thomas Jefferson and his Influence on the Classical Tradition and Slavery

Introduction

Thomas Jefferson is counted among the founding father of the declaration in relation to the independence of the United States; he also rose to the position of the president of United States of America. Along with him serving as the President of the United States he also laid the founding stone for University of Virginia. He served to his full ability and the history tends to remember his services for the country with great pride and honor. By Profession Thomas Jefferson was a lawyer who always voiced his opinion in the favor of the Justice for all. The Brain who crafted America's Legal System was none other than but the Thomas Jefferson; he is remembered in the American history as the most brilliant mind, it would not be wrong to state that he was the Revolution's Renaissance Man. In the context of this paper we intend to discuss his views regarding the slavery and classic tradition.

Slavery

Thomas Jefferson always spoke in favor of the equal rights for all the men and that the very citizen in the state is equal. The man who crafted uniformity in the American society himself went against his own concepts and the history has proven that he himself kept slaves. This has the been the topic of hot debate among many classes of the American society, however, many people rests their opinion in its favor while the rest speaks against its existence. The man who is ranked among the founding fathers of the declaration of independence and ardent enemy of the concept of slavery was himself the owner of the slave. Many people see this act of the man as the contradiction between his words and actions, and thus is criticized heavily for this particular action. However the history of Slavery cannot be denied in the American culture which shapes up the American History.Whether people tend to like it or not but the facts remains intact that slavery does tend to draw its roots from the American history and was practiced by the people. People tend to keep the slaves for their own comfort however many historians tends to tem it as one of the darkest chapters of American history. I order to acquire the slabs people tend to use the tool of the law, the same law which stands for the rights of every American and tends to portray itself as the protector of their liberty.
