Abstract

Surgery is a term which is used for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases through operative procedures and in medicine we use medications, behavioral modification, and a host of other nonsurgical means. In this paper we try to focus on the Plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is a branch of medicine, dealing with the reform of the imperfect or repair defects present in human body. Reconstructive plastic surgery deals with the abnormalities, signs, or scars present due to injury, disease or birth defects. It makes some of the defected features normal, and the person/ defected parts look normal. Cosmetic plastic surgery is usually performed to improve the physical appearance of the body and usually performs on aesthetic level. Harold Delf Gillies was the first doctor, specializing in plastic surgery and was known for the first plastic surgeon.

Introduction

Plastic surgery refers to any surgical or medical intervention to the body for aesthetic purposes, and is interchangeably referred to as Plastic surgery, plastic surgery, and aesthetic surgery. While Plastic surgery used to describe solely surgical interventions, it now refers to a range of procedures that include surgery, injectable, and laser and chemical treatments. The goals of Plastic surgery are also varied. While some patients seek Plastic surgery to improve their already-normative appearance, others aim to achieve a normative appearance through Plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is a controversial medical practice that is highly gendered and radicalized (Kansupada, 159-67).

Background

The majority of Plastic surgery patients are women and Plastic surgeons are men, and several surgeries have been developed to render a patient's features to more closely approximate Caucasian features. While Plastic surgery is still expensive, in the past 20 years it has become more accessible and affordable due to the availability of credit cards to finance Plastic surgery and other payment plans, less invasive procedures that do not require overnight stays, and a greater selection of practicing Plastic surgeons with varying credentials. The acceptability of Plastic surgery has also increased with its popularity, and this has been facilitated in North America by a greater awareness of Plastic surgery procedures in popular culture.
