Abstract

In this paper I try to explore the concept of marketing concepts in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on Jack trout's theories and its relation with marketing activities and development. The research also analyzes many aspects of positioning and repositioning and tries to explore the thoughts of Jack trout. Finally the research describes various career goals of my life which I have formulated for me to achieve.

Introduction

In every field one can find few people who lead that field or make astonishing and remarkable contribution that they always being remembered for their contributions. Similarly in the field of marketing there are few gurus that are considered as the top notch marketing practitioners and their contributions in terms of their ideas and theories is of utmost importance to the field. The aim and objective of this paper is to talk about a theorist and his work. For that purpose I have selected Jack Trout. The following part of the paper discusses theories and ideas of Jack Trout.

About Theorist

Jack Trout is the owner of his firm Trout and Partners Ltd. His organization performs the task of consultancy in the field of marketing. His firm is located in Connecticut. Among the top most clients of the Trout's consultancy include Papa John's pizza, Hewlett-Packard, Procter and gamble, southwest Airlines and Merck. Jack Trout has not only performed the consultancy of private organizations but his firm has also been engaged working with governmental organization. Jack Trout worked with the State department and worked on the project the aim of which to explore how to better sell America. In the year of 2006, Trout worked with democrats to help them to regain leadership role of the congress of United States. Jack Trout has shared his thoughts and various techniques of practicing successful marketing techniques in his various books. The books that Jack Trout has written are as follows:

Jack trout is considered as the one of the most eminent and profound marketing consultant and theorist in today's world. The basic task that is the center of the Jack trout's consultancy is to scrutinize the marketing practices of various national and international organizations. Jack Trout is a person who believes in simplicity and who prefers to formulate rules, regulations and goals. This can be proved by his book 22 immutable laws of marketing. This book lists down 22 different rules through which a marketer can launch a successful marketing campaign. In one of his interviews to the Times magazine he asserts that immense practical experience and knowledge can make the work easy because experience allow you observation and through observation you can form opinions, rules and laws (Michael pp. 6).
