In this study I have analyzed the work done by the great American literature writer “Edgar Allan Poe” and inspected the element of bizarre and eerie characters, their settings and images used by the writer to develop the theme of his writings. During the case of this study I have consulted referred to different articles and books authored by other writers as well who said something about the work done by the Edgar Allan Poe.

Introduction
Edgar Allan Poe (Boston, 19 January 1809 - Baltimore, 7 October 1849) was a great poet, novelist, short story writer, playwright, literary critic, and publisher; he was one of the main figures of the romantic American literature history. (Poe, Pp. 2-34)Known mostly for his stories and tales of the macabre and mystery. Poe was amongst the pioneer of the short story and is regarded as the inventor of the new detective-fiction genre. Moreover he is further credited with his significant contribution to the inception of the new genre of science fiction. He was the first prominent and well-known writer who tried to make his living out of his writings alone, thus resulting in the financial difficulties throughout his career.
Born in Boston, Poe lost his parents in his childhood; he was then adopted by John and Frances Allan of Richmond in Virginia, where he spent most of the early days of his life. His literary career begun humbly by the anonymous publications of the compilation of his poems called Tamerlane and Other Poems (1827). Poe shifted to Baltimore, where he continued to live with his paternal family. After the demise of her step mother Poe was expelled from the university only because of the reason of the lack of availability of the funds to pay his fees.
It was a dark era in his life he became depressed and started to consume excessive alcohol, and started gambling which was followed by his attempted suicide in the year 1849. (Poe, Pp. 2-34)In the year Poe married his young cousin, named Virginia. Their marriage lasted for ten years until she got in to the epidemic disease of tuberculosis and died. Poe eventually disappeared after the first week of her demise. It's still quite ambiguous about what happened to him during this tenure. However there was a speculation that he died because of excessive alcohol use or because of rabies, on 7 October, 1849.
