Introduction

The anti-slavery novel “Uncle Tom's Cabin” is written by the Harriet Beecher, an American author. The novel was published in 1852. It has thoughtful impact on the attitudes of the Africans of the America and slavery in the US. It completely strengthens the clashes to the Civil War of America.

Harriet Elizabeth Beecher Stowe was born on 14th June 1811.he was an American abolitionist and author. His novel Uncle Tom's Cabin had directly attacked the unkindness of the slavery. It was too famous novel in Britain. It describes the political issues and made them concrete to the people. In North America, it also invigorate the anti slavery armed forces. It made infuriated and disillusioned the south. It was the bestselling novel of the 19th century (Stowe, 1962).

Uncle Tom's Cabin is a typical novel. It has aggravated the civil war of America. Through this novel, Harriet Beecher provoked the people to concern over this issue, by conversing the slavery issues and by viewing unkind features (Shmoop, 2012).

The main focus of the novel is to demonstrate that Africans of America have also the feelings, soul and emotions like others. In that time, treating black people like cattle, servants and downward by the white people was very common. The sellers and suppliers of slaves think that children and mothers, who are separated, have no feelings and they don't feel any hardness like the white people. Stowe tries to show the Africans of America as normal people. The central hypothesis of the story was that black people undergo more than the white people, and it is too wrong to treat them badly. The whole idea of slavery was discussed from the firm Christian point of view by the author. The story completely shows the religious background of the Stowe, as her father was also the famous minister (Cliffsnotes, 2012).

The main character of the novel is Uncle Tom. Uncle Tom is a black man of middle age with honestly and intelligence. He was delegated the whole house dealings by his master Mr. Shelby. He was also entrusted for handling large amount of money of his master's business trip. It was the greatest opportunity for the Uncle Tom to run away. But, Uncle Tom always comes back because he doesn't want to break the trust of his master, by running with the money of his master. The Uncle Tom's story reflects the story of the enslavement of the Joseph in Egypt.

Uncle Tom was always respected by the Mr. Shelby because of his Christian values. He had been given the full freedom unlike the other slaves.
