Work Environment

The environment of your workplace is vital to employee satisfaction, reducing turnover and productivity. It is also vital to the legal stability of your business. A hostile work environment can be the basis for many types of complaints from employees and legal causes of action. A hostile work environment is a workplace in which unwanted comments or conduct based on sex, race, age or other legally protected characteristics based unreasonably interferes with an employee's work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment for employees, is bullied and for other workers .

A hostile work environment is created when someone in a workplace committed this type of harassment, including a colleague, supervisor or manager, entrepreneurs, customers, suppliers or visitors. In addition to the person who was directly harassed, other employees who are affected by the harassment (by listening or watching it) also a victim (Padavic, 2002).

Harassment

Harassment in the workplace defined as unwelcome, hostile, aggressive behavior, manifested in the form of physical, written or verbal behavior as a result of which a natural person to whom they were directed harassment have on a moral, emotional, economic, and in some extreme cases, even physical suffering. Harassment, the inability to restrain harassment reported as a form of discrimination in employment. Types of Harassment at Work

Victimization
