Introduction

This paper focuses on work based learning and is divided into four major portions that discuss the four sectors of health as well as social care that include formal, informal, statutory and private care. Moreover, it also demonstrates an understanding of care assistance setting and sector and the way in which it fits into national and local level service delivery which includes governments setting and monitoring of standards. Besides this, the regional differences of entitlement to services such as post code lottery and appraise legislation with regards to inter agency and multi-disciplinary working in care assistance sector have also been discussed.

Discussion Sectors of Health

Having the access to the healthcare facility is the basic right of every citizen; therefore, the aim of the UK healthcare system should be to provide the best healthcare to the citizens which ever class they belong to. However, there are also some ways that can be opted for by the UK healthcare system to further bring improvements in the health care system. The four main sectors of health and social care include setups which are formal, informal, statutory and private (Bellamy & Mowbray 1998, pp.401).

Formal

Proper qualified doctors and physicians who are involved in health care and provide services to the patients in a formal setting.

Informal

There are nurses who take care of the patients in the cases when a proper physician is not available in order to provide them emergency services.

Statutory

This refers to the written law with regards to the health and social care which have been written by the legislature.

Private

There are more than 12 million people in the UK who are covered for private health care. There are many services that are provided by the National Health Service that include psychiatric care and long term residential care especially for the people who have learning disabilities. Beds are provided by NHS with collaboration with the private sector in order to ensure that better health care services are provided to the people (Aveyard 2010, pp. 10 ).

Care Assistance Setting and Sector

With regards to the understanding of care assistance setting and sector and the way in which it fits into national and local level service delivery including governments setting and monitoring of standards, it can be said that the health care system has greatly improved. This can be reflected by numerous factors. The pharmaceutical industry in the United Kingdom is growing day by day; however the issues surrounding the industry are also increasing. This is causing huge problems for the whole industry as the main issue regarding the sale of drugs is licensing and the laws related to it. This is the reason the industry is demanding more and more patenting laws so that they can protect the medicines that are producing.
