Homelessness has long-term social problems, rather than short-term emergency crisis that touched the lives of many Americans. For example, a reference, B., Phelan, J., Bresnahan, M., Stueve, A. Moore, R., and Susser, E., 1995. Life and five years the prevalence of homelessness in the United States: New data on old debates. American Journal of Orthopsychiatry concluded that more than 6,5% of American adults have experienced literal homelessness (on the street or in shelters) at some point in their lives. (Mark 2008) Families with children are probably the least visible and recognizable subgroup of the homeless. (Hastingsc 2000) Nevertheless, families with children make up about 40% of homeless individuals and represent the fastest growing subgroup of the homeless (Shinn and Weitzman, 1996). From 1995 to 2000, was approximately 50% increase in the number of families with children seeking shelter (Nunez, 2000).
Problem Statement
What we know about the homeless families? About 90% are women who never married, separated, divorced, widowed or (Dale, 1990). The most typical homeless family consists of mother in her 20 years with one or two young children (Bassuk et al., 1996). Since the violence and poverty appear related (Currie, 1998), it is important that homeless women with children tend to be poorer than single homeless women and single homeless men (in terms of total income from all sources of life; Roll, Toro, and Ortolo, 1999).
Past researchers have documented high levels of violence and social agression for homeless families. This review examines the role of violence and aggression in the lives of children in these families, paying particular attention to possible links between domestic violence, aggression, children, and both mothers and children with problems of social exclusion and agression. (Usher 2000) The main thesis is that violence and aggression are the causes and / or consequences of many of the problems experienced by homeless children, including their problems with social relationships.
Methodology
The methodology used is of the compelling underlying logic of statistical methods so that it can not only do the calculations, but also truly understand what is going and remember what is learned in the years ahead. It covers basic introductory statistics and methods including central tendency and variability, inferential statistics (Z scores, normal curve of the sample, compared with the population, and probability), the t test, analysis variance, correlation, prediction, and more. This type of methodology is best for research analysts and journalists in the field of psychology.
Literature Review
Children who witness and / or experience violence likely to develop and internalizing and externalizing behavior problems. Studies of homeless children has given the observation in accordance with this evidence. (Hastingsc 2000) Similarly, Rabideau and Toro (1997) noted that domestic violence was associated with behavioral problems among homeless children.
When the children exposed to violence, they are likely to take on violence and aggression in their own social relations. Anooshian (in press), for example, found that when dealing with specific types of behavior problems, maternal reports of violence were more predictive of homeless children on ...
