My assumption that only half the population listen to the radio on any one day is in fact drawn from the Time Use Survey. Table C2.2 shows that 52 per cent of Time Use Survey respondents recorded no radio listening. As mentioned above, the Time Use Survey also indicates that radio listening is strongly perceived by the respondents to be a secondary activity, something that they register doing while travelling, preparing meals, etc.
